Christmas in July Baby; that’s what I’m talkin’ about!!
Why wait for Thanksgiving to break out the holiday fare? I can’t make it through 3 months without some gravy, mashed root vegetables, Collard & Spinach Surprise, stuffing, and cranberry sauce! This was perhaps the most popular Healthy Cooking Live event of 2009 so I’ve recreated it to enjoy right now in July! Please note that there is a TON of food and a lot to go over so I’ve extended this event to 4 hours...come hungry ‘cause there’s a ton of food! We’re also using some pretty expensive ingredients; kuzu, agave, and umeboshi plums among them, so there’s a $5.00 ingredient surcharge on this one as well.
What to do during the holidays can be a problem for those with heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, some other chronic illness, or others that just want to eat healthier or are trying to lose some weight. So I’m doing a cooking demonstration completely dedicated to a plant-based, extremely low-fat, whole foods holiday meal!
We’ll be briefly going over how to use imitation turkey products, but that isn’t the main point of the demonstration. Almost everything on the menu is 100% oil-free with the noted exception of the blueberry crumble which has only 3 tablespoons of expeller pressed canola oil in 15 portions.
The featured items for this demonstration are blue agave and kuzu...come hear them discussed and more importantly...see them used and get to taste the results!
